Shattered Lives Campaign Session #2
The Frontier has been invaded by a goblin hoard! The town of Cross Roads has been transformed into a refugee camp, which is where your adventure begins.
- Characters must be 2nd level
- We will play Tuesday Night August 20th 7:30 till 10:30
- This campaign will last approximately 3 session. So be sure you are available August 20th, 27th, and September 3rd.

OOC Updates
Go to the Shattered Lives RP page and view the OOC information. Pick your parents (optional), history (as it fits within the OOC information), and really anything else you want to add. And post them there, be sure to distinguish between IC and OOC. This is getting exciting! I can't wait for Thursday.

Server Test Sunday 7/28/2013 at 9PM
Players, I want to conduct a server test this Sunday at 9PM to make sure everybody has the hak paks for the module installed and can access the server without any trouble. I'll post the IP address in the comments.
Shattered Lives Campaign
Shattered Lives is designed to be a starting adventure for a group of 1st level characters. The module assumes the characters are young, inexperienced and are just about to 'come of age'. All characters have known each other their entire lives, living and working on a farm. The characters will either be a member the the family that owns the farm or be one of the children of a hired farm hand, which will be determined once I see what you post.
- All Characters will be first level
- We will play Tuesday Nights 7PM till 10PM starting 7/30/2013
- this short campaign will last 2 sessions at the most

How to install extra content
While playing
NWN, a player may find that some modules and worlds require the use of
specific extra content (such as module files or hak files), or a player
may wish to change aspects of the game experience (such as with
alternative GUI colorations). All such files need to be downloaded,
then saved to specific locations:
.mod files need to be placed into your NWN/modules folder - these are the actual adventure files
.hak files need to be placed into your NWN/hak folder - these contain all sorts of additional content for a module or server
.bmu files go into your NWN/music folder - these are music files used by module builders
.tlk files go into your NWN/tlk folder - this type of file contains text data, used by new spells and other filters. If you do not have a NWN/tlk folder, you'll need to create one for new .tlk files.
.bik files go into your NWN/movies folder - these are movie files, typically used at the start or finish of certain modules
.bic files go into your NWN/localvault folder - these are player character files. Some modules may have the player in the role of a particular character (like many more "structured" games), and a .bic file is the method used for this.
portrait files go into your NWN/portraits folder - these are for player character portraits in single player and multiplayer modules. Other players need to have the same files on their computer if they want to see any custom protrait your character may be using. If you want new portraits, try this Custom Portraits Guide.
"overrides" go into your NWN/override folder - these most often include files for GUI alterations or player-side visual updates (such as creature model updates or tileset retextures). It is recommended that only files for "art resources" (textures and models) be placed into this folder, otherwise there may be unintended problems with the game.
Notes on NWN file names:
* In NWN, "mod" is short for module, which is the file that contains an adventure or world, the area layouts, the creature information, the quests, and anything else layed out or designed in the toolset.
* The NWN "hak" is a specific type of file that contains additional content that adds to or modifies the default content of the game (such as creature models, sounds, weapon models, and even area tilesets (landscape files)). It is not a "hack" in the traditional sense.

Welcome Players!
This blog will be used for all communications concerning the Skeeneyman NWN campaigns.
Some basic(off the top of my head) rules/plans concerning the blog:

- I will post important links in the side bars ie. hakpacks
- The main blog section will be mostly used for Roll Playing your character/world.
- Any player can make a post of any kind on this blog. However, if it is a Roll Playing post all comments related to the post must be in character (IC).
- If you are going to make an out of character (OOC) comment in a Role Playing post please put an "OOC" in front of it. This is also true during game play.
- I'll post up coming campaigns on this blog
- I'll give expected length of the campaign
- Campaign Setting
- Desired Number of players
- Desired Level of characters
- Day and time the campaign will be taking place
- Through the comments, players will sign up for the campaign with specific characters in mind, giving Name, Class and a summary of what the character is like
- Once the party is determined we will start to role play the characters on the blog to flush them out a bit, and solidify how they arrived in their current situation
- After a session is completed, I will often post something IC on the blog that players are encouraged to comment on also IC
- It is perfectly fine for any player to post anything on the blog IC or OOC. Just make sure that it is clear which is which.
