  1. Name: Stosaadi Hollysword
    Class: Cleric
    Race: Half-Elf
    Parent(s): Eilella and Searos Hollysword
Description: Tall, thin, fair skin, eyes, and hair color from lack of sun exposure, hair is extremely long and pulled back because religious beliefs prevent female hair-cutting,
History: Parents are members of the same convent. Marriage was arranged, but they agree with the arrangement. Stosaadi is an only child who has been sheltered and isolated by her parents her entire life. Although Stosaadi is extremely intelligent and well-read, she knows nothing beyond her home, books, and polytheistic religion, which promotes peace and modesty.

Today is the day after Stosaadi's 18th birthday, and yet another goblin horde has attacked a village to which the Hollyswords have traveled to help (their commune is two days away). Eilella and Searos Hollysword, their commune's most skilled clerics, have done their best to defend the brave protectors of this village, but the wounds of the villagers are too many and too great. As the battle comes to an end, the Hollyswords, along with those who can still walk, carry those who can't to the nearest temple, where Stosaadi is busy studying, for she is forbidden to witness the gruesomeness of battle.

Eilella and Searos enter Stosaadi's study.

Searos (exhausted, but firm): Stosaadi, your mother and I agree that because you have come of age, and given the circumstance, we shall give you a final evaluation based on how well you tend to the wounded in the temple. If we feel that you are ready, you will begin your journey to find your place in this world, as is tradition.

Stosaadi (eagerly): Yes, Father. I will not let you down.

Eilella (emotionally): Now go, make us proud, our little prodigy.

Stossadi, with a professional, stone-stiff expression, makes her way to a large, muscular monk and begins chanting.

    Name: Lila Rayne
    Class: Ranger
    Race: Half Elf
    Parent(s): Unknown
Description: She is a young woman of the age of 21. Her eyes shine silver, made brighter by the paleness of her skin and her short jet black hair. She has a small slender build yet she was as tall as any human male. Very little about her physical appearance makes her stand out in the crowd, especially when she chooses to remain unseen. She is very quiet and typically keeps to herself, content with simply watching the world around her.
History: She has no memory of her parents or her life before Connor Silverkin and his rangers. She has been told that she was found on one of Connor's scouting missions, a young elf child barely able to walk on her own, wrapped in nothing but leaves with only what he assumed was her name etched in the wood of a tree to identify her. Since then Connor kept her secret to anyone outside of his most trusted rangers, as to keep her safe as he raised her. In his frequent visits to the farm, he would leave her, only to bring her back the best food she had ever tasted--none other than Aunt Pol's cooking. After each trip he told her stories of all the people on the farm, the odd tasks he performed, the lessons and training the children went though, and even of old Bess. She always hung on each word of every tale, her silver eyes shining in a childlike wonder. Although Connor never let her call him father, he protected her as if she were his own blood. Once when she was 15 she had asked why she could not go to the farm with him and he simply replied "Everyone has their secrets, and you are mine. Soon, though, you shall meant them." Within the year, Connor's presence in her life lessened until she slowly realized that she must follow in his footsteps in order to keep him close. At the age of 18 she decided to run away and train on her own to become the best ranger she could. She swore she would only come home when she was skilled enough to impress the only being she trusted, so that his heart would fill him with enough pride so that she may finally join him on his trips to the farm. Her training was interrupted though by the single letter she had received from Connor since she had left, asking for her help and telling her to meet him at the old town they used to visit together when she was still young--what is now know as the refugee camp Cross River.

Lila entered Cross River just as the sun was setting. She walked casually, but the hood of her of her cloak was pulled up, the cowl covering her face and her constantly moving eyes, which scanned and studied every aspect of the area and all the people around her. She quickly noticed the nearest inn, and knowing this would be the best place to find Connor.

Upon entering the inn's tavern, she quickly scouted the room, searching for that oh so familiar face, but she noticed nothing. Instead she decided to wait, so she settled in the darkest most secluded table, setting her long bow to the side of the chair, and waited. She kept her hood up, allowing her to naturally scan the room, eyes constantly moving while her body remained relaxed and unmoving. Despite her attentiveness, she was still startled by the voice of the waitress.

WAITRESS: Would you like something sir *said flirtatiously, yet she stuttered when Lila lowered her hood and stared directly at the woman with intense stormy silver eyes* Ma'am, my apologies.

LILA: *she scanned the room, seeing a small woman with a glass of wine and pointed* That.

WAITRESS: *seeing the wine she nodded* Any specific type? Red or white?

    LILA: Best

WAITRESS: *slightly confused she begins to open her mouth for clarification, but she notices Lila's tension and assumes her uncomfortable air to be mere annoyance, so she decided just to find something herself*

Lila, sighing with relief continued to scan the room. Once the waitress returned with her drink she took it silently and handed her a small payment, not bothering to count it out and sending her away before she could return her change, doing all that she could to avoid more social contact.

As the evening went on, her glass long emptied, she began to loose hope. Suddenly she noticed an odd trio across the tavern. Something seemed familiar about them. She focused on the group, catching bits of their conversation. Suddenly she heard his name... These men knew Connor. Her eyes widened in shock as she moved instantly to stand as a natural instinct, making her bow clatter to the ground. She froze at the sound, simply standing and clearly staring at the trio, but she could not move.

(-OOC- Some of the original three should comment on this so I actually know what is going on... Just saying :) )

    2. ((I'll post once I'm finished with dinner. I have to ask, though, what are the gods of the setting? Forgotten Realms gods? As a paladin, I figured it'd be good to know.))

    3. ((I've decided that Heironeous will be Acora's god, though if that's incompatible with the setting, I can easily change it.))

The current topic of discussion among the Chandler Farm Trio, as the Half-Elf had noted, was Connor. The three had not seen the ranger in some time, not since he had gone to search for more information on the goblin hoard that had attacked the farm. While it was possible that they had struck down the entirety of the Goblin hoard in their frantic rush on the caves where they had found Connor, neither the ranger nor the boys were entirely certain.

Still, he had left them behind at the Old Oak Inn to recover from their battle, while he drew on his network of friends and associates to discover any information there was to find. The three farmboys had recovered, both mentally and physically, over the past week. Acora, for his part, had been troubled with nightmares the first night. He dreamt of discovering Auntie Pol's head atop a spike, and of the bodies that had littered the floor of the farmhouse.

Consistent prayer to Heironeous and long nights of drinking with his companions had helped alleviate these dreams. Drinking and talking in the common room of the Old Oak was how they had spent most of their nights since the attack on the farm, though Acora had taken to walking the streets of the town whenever his friends seemed to want to bond with their mother. In his walks, he had come to know most every face in town.

Because of this, the woman at the bar stood out. She was obviously from out of town, though her features were common enough that she might have blended with the other patrons, had she not been staring. The way she was dressed reminded him of Connor, however, and the longbow resting against the bar beside her helped strengthen that connection. Her staring was strange, but he felt no need to approach her. Instead, he contented himself with watching her over his cup of deep, red wine, and waited for her to act.

  5. Sonja: *standing at the top of the hill she scans the land to the west. In the distance she sees the town of Crossriver. Smiling slightly she begins to ascend when she notices a crow flying directly at her from the east* Must be from the monastery *she mutters to herself. The bird lands on her shoulder and holds out its leg to reveal the small note tethered to it. Sonja quickly removes and reads the note then frowns* Damn! *she yells and breaks into a run westward*

Sonja: *she finally reaches the town well after dark and is famished. But before she can rest she must speak with the Hollysword’s. So, she heads to the makeshift hospital and finds them all sleeping on empty cots. * Searos…Eilella wake up. I’m sorry to be disturbing you at such a late hour but I received word that the Holly Monastery is under attack by goblins. They are holding their own but I imagine they will need your help.

Searos: Thank you Sonja, we are in your dept.

Sonja: Please think nothing of it. We must all help each other if we are to survive this. Please hurry, I have some travel rations all packed up and ready for you.

Searos: Again, thank you…And to think I barely knew your name just a few short weeks ago, and now you have saved our lives and those dear to us.

Sonja: It is our way. Now hurry…

Sonja: * after delivering the message she heads into the Old Oak Inn for some food, drink and hopefully meet up with her friend Connor to inform him of recent events. And much to her surprise she sees Lila sitting alone.* Lila!! It’s great to see you! Have you seen Connor?

    Two Days Later…

Conner: Sonja! Hey Sonja! Over here! Thank you for coming...What is the situation to the east?

Sonja: Not good I’m afraid…The Monastery has come under attack. I had to send the Hollysword family back to help defend it. They will be greatly missed. They have some unusual belief but their healing powers are strong…Very strong. They will be missed.

Conner: Hollysword…*Connor roles the name around in his mouth* I just saw a Hollysword in the hospital.

Sonja: True, they left their oldest daughter Stosaadi behind to help out with the refugees and the defense of Crossriver.

Connor: Hmm…*Connor heads over to the make shift hospital and finds Stosaadi busily helping the staff, healing the injured, and praying over the sick and to his astonishment they all got better, a lot better and almost immediately* Excuse me…Stosaadi, I’m sorry to interrupt, but I need you to meet me in the Old Oak Inn tomorrow morning. I have a very important mission, and I think you will be critical to ensuring its success. I know what you are doing here is very important, but the failure of this mission may mean the fall of all the frontier land south of the brown hills. There is even talk of the king pulling support for the entire region. *Connor shakes his head* I know it’s asking a lot especially of one so young but our need is great
